Even Santa has gone high- tech! Imagine our suprise when we went to visit Santa at the mall and they gave us a pager , just like the ones you get when you go out to eat .... they told us about how long the wait was and when they would page jus to return in line .

On the wish list this year...Aryn - Unicorn , Alyssa - a new bike and Andew - roller coaster vengance Knetix. Anyone know where you can get a unicorn ??????

After visiting Santa we went out to the commons and enjoyed a very long lunch at maggiano's. After lunch alyssa and kevin watched a magic show and she was chosen to be his helper.... she was so cute - so theaterical!

Its begining to look alot like Christmas ..... Well since returning from Chicago alittle over a week ago i have made 40 christmas cards, a few homemade gifts, bought everything for everyone on all of our list.... wrapped everything and shipped it out, and baked ! .... Yep, basicly everything that normally takes about a month to do - done in about 5 days ! Exhausted- Yes ! I think i need to spend a day at the spa before the kiddos get out for Christmas break !

We made gingerbread houses . They were wilton kits .... i mixed the frosting and gave the bowl to kevin. He didnt like the tip so he just stuck his had right in the bag and yanked it out .... concrete frosting everywhere ! He is not the most patient person in the world! Turned out nice, kids were bored before we got to the decorating part so they arent the most highly decorated houses on the block ! :D

Today we had a fabulous time at the Wilson Mills Pumpkin farm with Aryn's kindergarden class. Her first field trip. Weather was awesome! Perfect fall day ! (upper 60's no sun- no rain either) We got to go on a small hay ride then they got to pick thier pumpkins from the patch. They got a quick lesson on halloween safety, ran through both a corn and straw maze and got to feed a goat some green beans . Aryn was the cutest pumpkin in the patch and of course she spent alot of time picking out the "perfect pumpkin"

In an email from a scrapbook friend today

"Isn't it amazing what people think of?
Read the story before watching the video
Strange but interesting.
This is a car advertisement from Great Britain. When
They finished filming the ad, the film editor noticed something
Moving along the side of the car, like a ghostly white mist. They
Found out that a person had been killed a year earlier in that exact
same spot.

The ad was never put on TV because of the unexplained
ghostly phenomenon. Watch the front end of the car as it
clears the trees in the middle of the screen and you'll see the white
mist crossing in front of the car then following it along the
road....Spooky!

Is it a ghost, or is it simply mist? You decide. If
You listen to the ad, you'll even hear the cameraman whispering in
the background about it near the end of the commercial.

A little creepy but pretty cool!!

So for some reason my kids think this is cool ( play it again, play it again ! )

Preparing for Ernesto - coming to shore on the nc/ sc line traveling up interstate 95 about 10 minutes from here. They have already put a 2 hour opening delay on school tommorow - most people in the area feel it will be canceled ..... waiting games begin!

The time has finally come ! The moment all parents wait for ! Someone get me a tissue ! sniff* sniff *

Not going to say that getting to this point has been easy. Aryn is a very strong willed child ! Even this morning she was upset that she didn't get to ride the bus ( she only had to be at school for an hour!) , she was upset that I didn't pack her a lunch, and of course she did not approve of the outfit I picked out for her. Once we got to school she was fine and enjoyed meeting her teacher and the teacher assistant!

We have a staggered entry in North Carolina for kindergarteners . So she went for an hour today, she goes next Wednesday all day with 1/2 of her class, then the entire class goes on Friday!

Her teacher is fabulous . She has a lot of great qualities that I think will help Aryn develop into a wonderful, bright, student with a love of learning!

****** can not get the photos to load right now will try again later :D *******

A few years ago my dear friend Sara (price) told me I should write a book about all the crazy, silly and funny things my kids says! Honestly she is so right ! Always something going on ! But heck I hardly have time to brush my teeth much less think about writhing a book! That's why this blog is such a wonderful thing - next year I can look at it and see what was happening in our lives a year ago at this time - and the pictures will still be up for us to see how much the kids , us, our house, and area have changed. Can you tell I am having a sappy day !

Anyway .... Yesterday I was driving Aryn to day care and we drove past this horse farm that is right around the corner from us. We have driven past this farm many times, in fact probably once or twice a day! Yesterday the horses were out by the fence and one started galloping ( almost running parallel with the van ) The following conversation ensued:
Aryn said " I think that unicorn is trying to talk to me . But I don't understand what he is saying? ...Mom what language do unicorns speak ?"
Mom: " gee I am not sure?"
Aryn " I think we need to check on the computer to see - maybe ebay will know !"

Ok too funny ! First that she thinks the horse is a unicorn and it is trying to converse with her and secondly she knows what ebay is and thinks that is a go to source for knowledge.

While in Atlanta for work i found out the my paterna17 grandfather has leukemia. My grandfather is 92 years old and has lived a long, healthy, and active life. He has been a farmer his entire life. He raised 6 kids( 5 boys and 1 girl) , he has 17 grandchildren and at least 25 great children ( and a few great great grandchildren) He has seen alot, lived alot and is a wealth of history , stories, and knowledge. I know that it is his time . I hope he doesnt suffer and that he knows that i love him. We are planning on heading back to Chicago during christmas and i hoping to spend one more day with him. A few years ago he was diagnosed with congenital heart failure. I flew out to say good bye to him. Very, very hard! he overcame! He is a fighter !

Please keep him and all of his family in your prayers and thoughts.

Back to school !..... This morning was meet the teacher day ! The kids are going to a brand new school and all 3 kids have brand new teachers! ( and of course each is in a different wing at opposite ends of the school) Andrew sat at his desk and said " hey, I am the very first person to sit in this seat! " School still smells like new carpet and new books! It is so much more spread out than the old school ! Alyssa and Andrew were able to meet there teacher but Aryn wont get to see hers till next Friday ( but we did peek into her classroom !)

Other exciting school news - this year the bus will be picking the kids up right at the end of the driveway - they no longer need to walk a block to catch the bus ! Yahoo!

Alyssa's teachers name is Ms. Traci Field, Andrews is Miss Ashley Poole, and Aryns is Ms. Kim Powell .

Ultimate cuteness - Miss Aryn ready for the pool - and my new handmade purse! Lovin' em both !

Hard to believe that summer is almost over - back to school next week !

The past few weeks have been very busy with my training and work schedule . The kids have been going to camp and had a lot of fun - but they are sooooooo exhausted. They have really enjoyed the past few days at home with mom.

I am heading back to Atlanta tomorrow for 4 more days of training. I will be home Sunday night. Last week we had a few days in which we didn't have to start till 4 pm so we had all day to play. Friday Carolina and I went downtown Atlanta and visited Coca cola ( a must do for 2 gals who have coke running thru their veins! ) , Underground Atlanta, CNN, and centennial park . Saturday I went to Discover Mills mall (huge) and thankfully I hadn't found it earlier or I am sure Kevin would be questioning the visa bill!

We got our final confirmation on our Disney trip. We are leaving in 3 weeks. Once again we are doing the not so scary Halloween party . We have to start thinking about our Halloween costumes. Fun, Fun, fun!
